The Children’s Trust: a five-year investment in young people
An approximately $1.9 million, five-year commitment supports youth development, academic assistance and creative programming in Miami-Dade County.

Long-term support for everyday work
In 2023, The Motivational Edge announced approximately $1.9 million in funding from The Children’s Trust over a five-year period. The commitment supports youth development services in Miami-Dade County through after-school and summer programming.
The grant supports academic assistance, music and arts programming, wellness, a safe drop-in site and wrap-around services. This sustained investment helps The Edge provide consistent spaces where young people can learn, create and build relationships.
Putting the investment to work
The Edge’s March 2025 update described expanded after-school and weekend programming, academic support, creative expression, workforce development initiatives and continued work with young people in the child welfare system.
The Children’s Trust’s commitment is an investment in the daily work behind these opportunities: teaching artists, supportive learning environments and programs that respond to young people’s needs.
This story reflects the five-year award announced in 2023. The grant’s geographic focus is Miami-Dade County; it is not presented as funding for all five counties The Edge serves.
